I have pain radiating down from my neck through both shoulders and into my arms and hands. My hands are very weak and I have started to drop things. I also have pain from my lower back into both legs, pain like electric shocks. I do not feel well at all. I have been taking nerve pain pills, as well as my regular opiate pain pills, hoping they will help, but they have only really made me sleepy. A day wasted today as I slept on and off for about 5 hours. Tomorrow I have to call and make an appointment for an MRI to try an get some answers.

Update on MRI Results.

Cervical Spine MRI scan showed severe narrowing of the canal at

C6 and C7 with narrowing also showing at C4 and C5.

This is constricting nerves and causing the pain in shoulders radiating down both

arms and into my hands. The pain in my hands is terrible and I also have a loss of strength

and an a very annoying nervous 'twitching' in the thumb, index and middle finger

predominantly on my right hand.

I have been referred to a specialist for a nerve conduction study and also a

series of E.R.I's (Epidural Steroidal Injections) into the spine to try and ease the pain.
