While cleaning the studio today, I found a sketch book from 2007, with notes and drawings for series of paintings-"Nuages". I remember listening to Debussy during the time I was making the notes and planning the series of works. I think it would be a beautiful series, to explore in the near future.

Back is feeling a little better, so an hour of clean up in the studio today. Good feeling to have made a start.

It has been about a week since my back felt good enough for me to even consider getting in to the studio to do any 'real' work. The pain in my lower back is really bad, and makes standing at the easel for any length of time difficult. I also have to get into the studio for a major clean up and organise, I am blaming the pain I am in plus the soporific effects of the pain killers I am on, that have made me less than enthusiastic about tidying up my work space. I have to snap out of it!

My back pain is still very bad, and I am unable to do an "real" studio work. As a result I have been working on the computer today, doing some concept drawings for a series of pens, "The Four Seasons". My intention will be to have the pens inlaid with enamel and contrasting metals, I also envisage having laser intaglio etching done, to create the images/design on the surface of the barrel.
As I possess none of the necessary skills to create these pens, it should be an interesting project, should it eventuate.
